I believe that set is theatrical technology and it is my favorite part so I found that link. It basically tells what certain people are supposed to do. I've never seen anyone build a scale model of the set they wanted though. I guess the designers at the Little Theatre are smart enough that they dont need a model to show them what to do =). Most of my artical says how most people have a degree in what they do for the productions, but to me they just need to have and idea and soem creativity and wa la! a wonderful set is born. This "technology" is being applied right now because our set is currently being built and its gonna be amazing!!!

ReplyDeleteWe actually do have some designers that begin with scale models, it is just not a part of the process that is really out there for everyone to see. Sor Mulan we were basically using a platform design with hanging items. For something like that, I don't get into a scale model design process, but we could have. It definitely would have helped everyone see the big picture from the beginning.
